It's That Time Of Year

I studied the 11th article of faith this week, and I really focused on what it means to worship God. To truly worship Him. And what I discovered came from 2 Nephi 25:29 and Alma 34:38. I'll summarize it for you: we need go worship him with the things we do, think, say, and the most important thing is that we need to do everything we are doing with our whole heart. We need to desire to do it. It's simple but seems hard because it is truly everything we do we need to have him in mind. But what I've realized is that it isn't that hard all he asks is that we be like Jesus Christ and that we go about doing good. So how can you go about doing good? Thanksgiving was so fun, we had been planning it for about a week and a half, and when we confirmed the visits... all of the plans changed. But we ended up meeting with 12 people! I took time the day before and made a ton of chocolate chip cookies, and honestly I think that was my favorite part. I loved baking a treat and bringing ...

I Guess I'm Still An Introvert

This week was full of meetings, we had zone conference which was amazing as usual, but also kinda sad because it was my last zone conference! But my mission President talked us through the whole plan of salvation and my mind was opened to the entirety of eternal progression. It's amazing how even though I've been a member of the Church since I was a child, I am still learning new things that amaze me. For example this week I learned about what it means to be meek. It's to be receptive to learning from the Holy Ghost and from other people even if they don't seem to be experienced or educated. This Christlike attribute is so important because as we develop it we are able to rely more on the Holy Ghost, and worry less about prominence, position, or wealth. We want to learn from everything, so we will continue to grow and in turn become more Christlike. I considered Matthew 5:5, "blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth", Moroni 8:26, Moroni 7:23, 2 P...

This week I studied a little about how Jesus is our Mediator. Each of us here are going to make mistakes, and on our own we can't fix them, we need Jesus to come between us and our mistakes so that we can return to God. But we have to do it on his terms; and that's why we have the commandments, to help us keep the terms and conditions of our exaltation. Baptism, Recieve the Holy Ghost, Keep our covenants, endowment, sealing... these are our terms and conditions of Eternal life. This week was pretty good, we did a mini mission prep with some members that help us in lessons, so that they can better understand the doctrine, and it went really well! We talked them through the plan of salvation and helped them understand more about the spirit world, and we were able to watch them become more confident in their ability to help us in lessons! We got my last transfer news!! Wahoo! I'm staying in Casa Linda with Hna Bradshaw! And even better news... we are now in a trio with Hermana...

Why?

I studied 2 different parables this week: the good Samaritan and the laborers of the vineyard. And honestly they are similar.  While I studied about the Good Samaritan I thought about how it is truly Jesus that finds us where we are and helps us to a place where we can be taken care of. Each of us is that poor lost man. But we are also host of the inn. Jesus left for a little, and gave us the Holy Ghost to take care of those around us. He trusts us to share this good news and share our light with others. I love Luke 10:35. "And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee." We know blessings we will receive as we do his work, and when he comes again to save us, if we have been loyal to our stewardship, we will be rewarded with mansions and with eternal life!  As for the laborers of the vineyard, I thought about how it doesn't ma...
