This week was pretty good! There was a training in my district on bearing testimony often- and how a testimony doesn't need to be eloquent or long- it only matter that it comes from the heart. I thought of this when hermana parry and I were reading in preach my gospel about how to rely on the spirit. It says "some missionaries feel confident that they know how to be Successful. Others lack such confidence. Remember, however, that your confidence and faith should be in Christ, not in yourself." I know it days "some missionaries" but put people there instead. I'm finally in a new area... Irving, Texas. My new companion is Hermana Parry- she and I went to the MTC at the same time, so I have met her before! She's from Smithfield... so only 30ish minutes from where I live! My area is called east shady Grove. And it's about 10 times smaller than my last area- and it's a biking area! Can you believe it? Biking is pretty chill, besides the fact that I'm always tired now, and my bumb is kinda sore. But it's fun to be out and about! We exercise at a high-school track, which is fun, but hard to stay motivated to work out. We did service twice at this place called Irving cares. It's a place where people give food donations and they organize it and help people get what they need. So we organized and put bags together for them to give out. I studied about commitment- because in preach my gospel a missionaries success is primarily measured by our commitment. And sometimes it's hard to feel like a successful or confident m...

I was asked to give a little training on this talk at my district council this week, and I just loved it! I definitely reccomend reading and studying it. It reminds me of the verses in moroni 6 about meeting often. We meet often so that we can grow together and have help when we need it. We build a safe community. It's also about relationships with companions and families. There is a term in there to "swing" and it reminded me of something my mom said. Relationships aren't always 50/50. Some days one will be going through a lot, so the other partner can do more. And visa versa. It's about teamwork- the end view is an average of 50/50.  This week I studied a little about agency and the fall. One thing that I loved was "He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully" (1 cor. 9:6). We all have our agency with what we want to do while we are on earth. We can choose what we put our efforts into...

Earlier this week in was reading in 3rd Nephi. And hermana peck was listening to a talk while she was in the shower. I had two thoughts.  1. In 3 Nephi 11 when the people are hearing a voice, they had to fix their eyes upon it to understand. They had to look up and see what was happening. Today we have to fix our eyes on Jesus Christ too- especially if we want to understand what is happening and why. We've been given this wonderful plan of salvation- and when we aren't fixed on Christ, we often forget why somethings are important or unimportant- we can be a little confused.  2. When the Savior invited the people to come unto him and feel the prints in his hands, wrists, feet, and side- he was inviting them to come and do something that would help them recognize how much he loves them. Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ fulfilled the atonement because he loves us, and so that we can be saved. He's inviting us to do the same now- to come unto him and feel his love. This week I ...

This week was super chill, but also so fun. I started studying the plan of salvation. And found one of my new favorite names of Christ: the author (of salvation, finisher of our faith). I'm going to study more about it this coming week.  But I was talking with hermana peck about the plan of salvation, and in truth, the only correct way to explain the plan of salvation is Jesus Christ. He is the creator, our redeemer, our lawyer, our teacher, he is everything. And it is only through him that we can live with our Heavenly Father and our families for all eternity. So the plan of salvation is really just the plan of Jesus.  This week we didn't do a whole lot, but in everything we did we could find something fun.
