New Transfer: New Work

Image
This week has been soo good! But before I tell you about this amazing week- I studied grace! My favorite talks this week are: -worthiness is not flawlessness (Wilcox 2021) -divine discontent (Craig Oct. 2018) -the healing ointment of forgiveness (duncan) I remember so many lessons about it when I was in young woman's, but I'll admit that I never really understood what it was... I always pictured a ballerina when I thought of grace! But grace is the divine means of help or strength, given through the bounteous mercy and love of Jesus Christ! The grace of God helps us every day. It strengthens us to do good works we could not do on our own. I know that this mission is one of those things! I know that the things that I am doing here, I am able to do through the grace of God! But I know that I am receiving this grace because I am trying everyday! I wake up- and it's Jesus, I go to bed and it's still Jesus! (Forshadowing... next week is about discipleship!) I know this becau...

Heavens Anidote

I mentioned it in my last email, but this week I studied Heavens Anidote- the Atonement of Jesus Christ! I have to say that my testimony of the blessing of the atonement has increased tremendously, and I invite all of you to take the time to learn more about it! Here are some of the talks that I loved: - the atonement (Nelson Oct 1996) - the atonement of Jesus Christ (Callister April 2019) - the atonement: all for all (Hafen April 2004) - the atonement covers all pain (Richard's 2011) I'm going to just get right to the point: In the talk by President Nelson, he explained the significance of the word atonement. "In the English language, the components are at-one-ment, suggesting that a person is at one with another." When we accept Christ's Atonement, we are with him- we are one in purpose! He continued to say that "in Hebrew, the basic word for atonement is Kaphar, a verb that means "to cover" or "to forgive". Closely related is thr Aramai...

Arms Forever Extended

This week I studied Mercy- and at first it was really hard to find a lot of things about it that I could study- without only studying the atonement. But by studying mercy, I decided to study the atonement for the next week- but that is next week's email! Here are some talks I really loved: - Mercy- the divine gift (Monson 1995) - Blessed are the Merciful (Hinckley 1990) - Trust again (Gong 2021) - Where justice, love, and mercy meet (Holland 2015) Mercy is the compassionate treatment if a person greater that what is deserved. This immediately reminded me of the song "I stand all amazed." "I stand all amazed at the love Jesus offers me Confused at the grace that so fully he proffers me I tremble to know that for me he was crucified  That for me A SINNER he suffered he bled and died" We are all sinners, so each and every one of us are the receivers of a gift that we don't deserve. We could never repay him. But, to quote president Hinckley, "it is part of ...

Gold Is Found In Simplicity

This week went by like a snap! And it was such a go go go week! This week I studied diligence! Here are my favorite talks from the week: - Act in all Diligence (Eyring April 2010) - Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it (Clayton April 2017) - Eternal Marriage (Howard April 2003) - The Marriage that Endures (Hinckley April 1974) I got to study Marriage a little this week, because an investigator asked about it- I'll tell you a funny story about him later!! There was a day this week, where I woke up and didn't want to work, I wanted a break. Coincidentally... I had already chosen diligence as my study topic... God works in crazy ways! But that morning in my personal study I read the talk by President Eyring- this quote really struck me: "The Saviors example gives me courage to press on. His Labors in mortality were finished, but he entered the Spirit World determined to continue his glorious work to save souls." This quote pretty much made me decide that I needed go get o...

Stepping Out Of The Shadows!!

My week study this week was about the Light of Christ! It felt like a perfect week for this because it was bright and sunny outside everyday, but in the mornings it was a little cold! I'll explain why in a second! My favorite talks from this study are: - Bearers of Spiritual Light (Uchtdorf Oct. 2017) - Out of Darkness into his marvelous light (Hales Apr. 2002) - Brighter and Brighter until the perfect day (Bragg Apr. 2017) Throughout my study here is what I learned: the Light of Christ is given to all, and is enlightenment, knowledge, and an uplifting, ennobling, persevering influence that comes upon us because of Jesus Christ. The light of Christ is always there! In the conference talk by Bragg he says, " even in the most difficult and darkest of times there is light and goodness all around us." I feel like the best way to follow that quote is another by Uchtdorf, "Darkness is not an indication that there is no light. Most often, it simply means we're not in th...
