New Transfer: New Work
This week has been soo good! But before I tell you about this amazing week- I studied grace!
My favorite talks this week are:
-worthiness is not flawlessness (Wilcox 2021)
-divine discontent (Craig Oct. 2018)
-the healing ointment of forgiveness (duncan)
I remember so many lessons about it when I was in young woman's, but I'll admit that I never really understood what it was... I always pictured a ballerina when I thought of grace! But grace is the divine means of help or strength, given through the bounteous mercy and love of Jesus Christ! The grace of God helps us every day. It strengthens us to do good works we could not do on our own. I know that this mission is one of those things! I know that the things that I am doing here, I am able to do through the grace of God! But I know that I am receiving this grace because I am trying everyday! I wake up- and it's Jesus, I go to bed and it's still Jesus! (Forshadowing... next week is about discipleship!) I know this because in 2 Nephi 25:23 it says "for we know that it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do." I know that his is true! In a talk by Michelle Craig it says "what you have to offer is more than enough- even with your human frailties and weaknesses- if you rely on the grace of God." That is what we are all here to do! To rely on God the father, and Jesus Christ!
In D&C 93:20 it says "therefore, I say unto you, you shall receive grace for grace." Try with every desire in your body to serve God, because as you do you will receive his grace to strengthen ans guide you! To end, in a talk called "receiving divine assistance through the grace of the lord" it says "if we can obtain grace of the grace of the lord Jesus Christ, that divine enabling power to assist us, we will triumph in this life, and be exalted in the life to come." I know that I want to be exalted! Do you?
So much has happened this week! We had transfers... and I have a new companion! Her name is Hermana Peck! I feel a new vibe in the work, almost like we are both so motivated to do all we need to, but it's still so fun! Here are some things that happened this week:
We went to visit an Inactive member, and we ended up helping these other people try to catch a stray dog... we didn't catch it.
We had a really cool "lesson" with an inactive member our ZL's found, we brought a member with us and she ended up knowing who he was and offered to give him a ride to the activity we were having this Saturday! It was such a cool miracle!
We also had this random member, end up in our areabook schedule, we can't remember why we had her there, but we visited her and she was so grateful! We figured out we didn't have her number- and were asking around to find it, and neither thr bishop or the ward mission leader knew her... we visited her again the next day, and she was not who we thought she was! She's kinda a mystery!
This week we finally got some progress with some of the people we have on date! It's been difficult to get in contact with them, and we have had two lessons!
We had a member meal at a restaurant called cheddars, and my companion and I couldn't decide what to get, so we both got something and split it! It was just cute! And she's just really awesome!
A really cool spiritual thing that happened this week was during a lesson with our friend Diego! We were talking about baptism, and I had the sudden impression to ask him if we could say a prayer! We said a prayer, and asked how he felt... and now he's on date for baptism!
I love you all so much! Remember that the grace of God is there to help you every day! Have an amazing week!
