I Promise You...

Nothing too exciting happened this week, but I'm an official biking missionary!... so I fell haha! Nothing crazy, but I'm official! It's funny that I fell, because my weekly study was on repentance! So I was able to dust myself off and keep on biking along!! Repentance is just so amazing! We are so lucky! A definition for repentance is "a change in mind, a fresh view about God, about oneself, and about the world." And its crazy how true that is! When we repent we are remembering that God is Merciful, a God ready to pardon! And we are remembering our own self worth and how we are children of God- and how we aren't of the world! We can choose to have no desire to err. We put the value on the things around us- so we if don't want to do it, then we don't have to!  When I think of repentance, I think of something my sister kelcee said. She said that feeling guilt or remorse was a blessing! That's so true. We can even find proof of that in the scriptures...

Valentines Day

Image
This week has gone by super fast! For Valentines day my companion and I visited a bunch of inactive members and heart attacked them! It was going super well and no body was the wiser... until one house! We were walking away around the back of their cars because they had a window when we heard the door open! We ducked down, hoping they wouldn't see us as we snuck over to our bikes... but to no avail. The Hermano saw us. But it was such a miracle because he ended up giving us his right number!! So we can set up a time to come and visit them!  There was also a valentines day dinner and dance party in my ward and we got to go! They did some line dances... which was pretty much just walking or skipping so we got to line dance a little! It was super fun!  This week I studied faith again. I just can't get enough, each time I study it I understand it more and I focus on different things. Faith is truly just soo powerful! This week I was really focused on the basics of faith. What real...

Pay Day!!

This week was nothing too crazy, nothing crazy fun happened- but I re-found my fire and desire to be a missionary!! I was on an exchange with an hermana that is going home in two weeks- and a couple of my past companions had had her, and I knew that she loved being a missionary. So I made sure to ask her why she loved being a missionary so much. And her answer wasn't some huge secret that I hadn't learned yet, but it was something that I had let myself forget. Missionary work is the best work you can do because of the little things. She related it to paydays. We aren't payed as missionarie with money- but seeing the smile of an inactive member coming back to church or of your friend you helped get baptized as they passed or blessed the sacrament for the first time- that's definitely a pay day! Seeing our friends walk into church, or when they said they loved that chapter in the Book of Mormon are such simple things that can bring us so much joy. And we are filled. Missi...

"I'm Still Standing"

Image
I studied the three kingdoms of glory! One thing that I really liked was that it's really based on your testimony of Jesus Christ. I was reading in Doctrine and Covenants 76, and it was so cool how if we have a valiant testimony (vs. 79) we will go to the celestial kingdom! I know that it's such simple doctrine, but that's why it's so good! The steps to grow your testimony are simple too! Study the scriptures, pray with a sincere heart, go to church, love others.... they are things that don't take much!  Another thing I studied this week was being holy. "Prepare yourselves, and sanctify yourselves, yea, purify your hearts, and cleanse your hands and your feet before me, that I may make you clean" (D&C 88:74). On our own we will never be holy- we will never be pure, we will never be perfect. But we don't have to. All he expects us to do is to practice virtue and holiness before [him] continually" (D&C 46:33). Practice, all we have to do is ...
