Cured Through Christ

This week I studied Humility!! My favorite scripture of the week was Deuteronomy 8:2! "And thou shalt remember all the way which the Lord thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no." This mission is a part of my wilderness, I know that I am here to be humble, prove, and so that God can know what is in my heart, and if I will keep his commandments! I particularly like the part "which the Lord they God led thee." He will always guide us- every step of the way! President Boyd K. Packer said “No member of this Church—and that means each of you—will ever make a serious mistake without first being warned by the promptings of the Holy Ghost." I know that he is by our side! I invite you to ponder if you are in the wilderness that will humble and prove you! And if you are, show to God the love in your heart, and the desire you have to keep hi...

Hope:)

This was a very chill week, nothing too crazy happened. But my personal study this week was hope! I loved what I learned! Here are a couple of talks that were my favorite! - the infinite power of hope (Uchtdorf Oct 2008) - a time for hope (Kapp 1986) - the light of hope (Young 1986) The first thing that I learned, is that "hope is sure, unwavering, and active" (Gospel topics, Hope). We can have hope that are day will become better, time will pass faster, or a dessert will turn out perfectly... if your me... but those things aren't sure- but our hope in our Savior Jesus Christ can be! Each and every one of us are guaranteed a life better than this one in one of the three kingdoms of glory, and we are already provided with a sure way of remaining clean to be able to return to live in our Heavenly home again with our Beloved Father in Heaven! In a talk called "Brightness of Hope" from 1994 it shares this, "having ultimate hope does not mean that we will always...

A Mission Isn't Supposed To Be Easy

This week has been a real struggle for me and I have cried every day- but here is what I have learned from it.  My study for this week was Prayer of Faith. And I know that this topic couldn't come at a better time for me.  Here are the talks I reccomend: - The souls sincere desire (Mcconkie Oct 2016) - Peace through Prayer (Pinegar Apr 1993) This week has been full of self-doubts and discouragement. But each day for the last 10 minutes of my personal study- I walked into our closet and spoke a whispered Prayer. Each time I felt comforted and knew that I needed to be on the mission, and that God and Jesus Christ were with me. I wasn't struggling alone. In the first talk by Mcconkie it said "but in times of trouble, our prayers become a lifeline of love and tender mercy. In our pleading, we may be strengthened to go forward and fulfill all that we have been ordained to do." I know that prayer is my lifeline here, and it can be for you too!  One random thing that has hel...

The Path To Perfection

Image
This week was so crazy! And this week in my personal study, I studied the phrase "be ye therefore perfect." And I can't tell you how amazing this study was for me!  I studied a bunch of conference talks, magazine articles, and scriptures! Here are a couple I think you all should read: - Be ye therefore perfect... eventually by Elder Holland (Oct. 2017) - Be ye therefore perfect by Brenda Hunt (March 1978 Liahona) This is what I learned and was reminded: We are commanded to be perfect, and even though that seems impossible and makes us feel incredibly inadequate- Jesus loves us so much, and will never give us a commandment that he knew we could not keep. There are two scriptures that I based my study off of: Matthew 5:48 and 3 Nephi 12:48. There is one difference between these two verses that I have never noticed before. In Matthew it says "even as your father in heaven" and in 3 Nephi it says "even as I, or your father in heaven." One HUGE event happen...
