I Promise You...

Nothing too exciting happened this week, but I'm an official biking missionary!... so I fell haha! Nothing crazy, but I'm official!

It's funny that I fell, because my weekly study was on repentance! So I was able to dust myself off and keep on biking along!! Repentance is just so amazing! We are so lucky! A definition for repentance is "a change in mind, a fresh view about God, about oneself, and about the world." And its crazy how true that is! When we repent we are remembering that God is Merciful, a God ready to pardon! And we are remembering our own self worth and how we are children of God- and how we aren't of the world! We can choose to have no desire to err. We put the value on the things around us- so we if don't want to do it, then we don't have to!
When I think of repentance, I think of something my sister kelcee said. She said that feeling guilt or remorse was a blessing! That's so true. We can even find proof of that in the scriptures. In Alma 42:29 it says "And now, my son, I desire that ye should let these things trouble you no more, and only let your sins trouble you, with that trouble which shall bring you down unto repentance." God gave us the gift of feeling remorse so that we will want to repent, so that we can free ourselves from that guilt. I know that I am so grateful for remorse because whenever I do something wrong, it's always there to push me to make things right. God has thought of everything! We don't need to worry!
I also love the scripture 1 Peter 1:18. "Ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold." Our ability to repent won't wear out. As many times as we need to, we can repent (Moroni 6:8). We are even asked to repent daily!
The mission is a crazy experience, and no matter where we are sent we are crafted and molded by God to be better people. We know we aren't perfect, but I know that as I repent every day and accept the atonement of Jesus Christ that I will become 1% better everyday and one day I will be undaunted in my journey back to my Heavenly Father.

This spiritual thought is kinda long, but I know that our prophet, President Russell M. Nelson is a prophet of God, and going on missions can change lives. I know that I am extremely grateful for my opportunity to serve a mission. The way I act, where my priorities are, and how I spend my time will forever be different. And even though I will still want to be spending a lot of time in the kitchen making who knows what, I know that my testimony of the truth of this gospel has grown immensely. I know that prayer, scripture study, and pondering in our hearts really can strengthen us. And if you haven't asked, or aren't sure... I ask you to please pray and ask God if this Church is true. And I promise you that the Holy Ghost will touch your heart, as he has mine. I love you so much! But I know that God and Jesus Christ love you so much more! Trust in them to guide you!

A member taught us how to make tres leches! Which was super fun! So when I get home if you ever want some... let me know!
This week was also Hermana Parry's Birthday so I got to make a cake!!! That's always a highlight!

My question for the week is: What do you like to murmur about? And why do you thing God gave you that challenge?
