The Plan Is Jesus
This week was super chill, but also so fun. I started studying the plan of salvation. And found one of my new favorite names of Christ: the author (of salvation, finisher of our faith). I'm going to study more about it this coming week.
But I was talking with hermana peck about the plan of salvation, and in truth, the only correct way to explain the plan of salvation is Jesus Christ. He is the creator, our redeemer, our lawyer, our teacher, he is everything. And it is only through him that we can live with our Heavenly Father and our families for all eternity. So the plan of salvation is really just the plan of Jesus.
This week we didn't do a whole lot, but in everything we did we could find something fun. For example... hermana Peck is the driver, so I was backing her... because that is the rules. But we ended up visiting this one apartment complex like 3 times since the guy kept saying he would send us his apartment number but ended up just telling us when he got home... but each time I was backing her, I did what I call tap dancing... that's all I know how to say to explain it, so you can imagine it in your head. But it was just kinda fun, and weird haha. So joy comes from the little things! So make time for joy in your life because if you don't, you won't enjoy it!
There was a day when we had dinner with a member, and we were about to go to eat when another member, that we spend a lot of time with, sent us a message asking us if we could come at 5:30 to her house. That's it, no context! So we told her that we could be there by 6:30 because we have dinner. We finished our dinner and drove over there... not knowing why we were going. And they also had prepared dinner for us... so we ate two dinners. And for the whole dinner we just talked about the government in Chile, and how there used to be a dictator. So that was really fun!
Also we went to salvation army, as we usually do. But we were helping them set up for a luncheon for the people who rang the bella for donations. We were just wiping down the tables... but someone brought their wife and grandchild to the lunch, and they turned them away because "they weren't supposed to do that." And we just thought about how welcoming our church is, and how focused on families we are. We always invite our families and our friends to join to strengthen our relationships. It was so surprising to see that other churches or people aren't like that. So remember your friends and family and do things with them!
We taught this cool guy twice- but here are some cool things he said during our lessons:
- "but why do I feel good after I say prayers"
- we had him do a faith flip and he said "why is that? Why is it that when I read the scriptures it is always what I need?"
- "I dunno if you've been following me around or stawking me and learning all my problems"
In 3 Nephi 11:11 it talks about how Jesus partook of the bitter cup. We all have our own bitter cup, and we can each use them to help those around us.
