Power Of The Word Of God

Earlier this week in was reading in 3rd Nephi. And hermana peck was listening to a talk while she was in the shower. I had two thoughts.
1. In 3 Nephi 11 when the people are hearing a voice, they had to fix their eyes upon it to understand. They had to look up and see what was happening. Today we have to fix our eyes on Jesus Christ too- especially if we want to understand what is happening and why. We've been given this wonderful plan of salvation- and when we aren't fixed on Christ, we often forget why somethings are important or unimportant- we can be a little confused.
2. When the Savior invited the people to come unto him and feel the prints in his hands, wrists, feet, and side- he was inviting them to come and do something that would help them recognize how much he loves them. Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ fulfilled the atonement because he loves us, and so that we can be saved. He's inviting us to do the same now- to come unto him and feel his love.

This week I studied the creation. And when I was reading, it said so often that they were made by the word of God. How powerful is the word of God? Crazy powerful! And that's what we are sharing! We are sharing the word- thats part of how we can have power and authority when we are teaching!
Also something that I realized this week was because of D&C 3-4. The work of God cannot be frustrated, and we are called to the work. The work that disciples are doing, so each and every one of us, cannot be frustrated. What's meant to happen will happen. That's the beauty of the plan of salvation. I read this quote the other day... "gods plan is constantly underway not under revision." Thats something we need to remember. God doesn't have backup plans.

This week I kinda found myself a little because of an exchange. An English sister came into our area and I had to be confident in myself and that I knew how to be a missionary. That's something that I've been worried about for the last week. I have second guessed a lot of what I knew- but since she didn't speak spanish- I could rely on her. I had to rely on Christ and the knowledge he has given me.
Nothing too crazy happened this week, we had some really good lessons! I taught our in- person English classes since our teacher is gone... and I've been in this area for the longest. They were okay.

My question for the week is: What are you committed to?
