I Am Getting Married In 2 Months

Success as a missionary is measured primarily by commitment. Your commitment to find, to teach, to baptize and confirm people, and to help them become faithful members of the Church who enjoy the presence of the Holy Ghost. Even though you all aren't missionaries, your success is measured the same way. Your success isn't measured by the amount of things you have, or the number on your bank account. Success is measured by your commitment- your commitment to your family, your job, your own happiness, and your other priorities. Don't let the world tell you that you aren't successful- because they don't know the effort and the success you truly have. It is just how baptism isn't a certificate of conversion- your own conversion can't be measured by someone else unless you tell them. Your success is the same, no one can tell you how successful you are besides yourself? So how successful are you going to be?

This week during my personal study I spent a lot of time making goals for my future and my future family so that I have a goal to better myself during my mission to be worthy of my future goals. This is all because of a simple workshop: the workshop was about becoming better, higher, and holier. The question they asked us was about a video that we watched of a plane taking flight. For that specific plane it took 26 seconds to take off... that isn't very long. What starts the plane going/what helps the plane get off the ground? Now obviously I am not someone who knows anything about airplanes... but it needs something like thrust and lift. If the plane pilot doesn't put it all into the beginning- will the plane take flight? Spiritually we need to use all of our heart, might, mind, and strength to lift off and achieve our goals or do something hard. For me the MTC is my beginning and I need to choose to take off and be committed to lift off and be successful during my mission. What do you all need to do to complete your goals?

We also had a devotional about faith. My favorite thing that was said was "Faith doesn't come by chance, it comes by choice." They gave the example of: If you are standing on one foot, whether it is your dominant foot or not you will start to lean and maybe fall. But when you have a firm foundation with both feet firmly planted you will be ten times harder to push over. In our life there will be many times of adversity where Satan will try to push us over and crumple our foundation. But when we build our foundation on faith and the strength and power it can give us we will not fall to adversity. But we need to remember that faith is always the answer- during times of joy and times of sorrow.
Phillipians 4:13- "I can do all things through Christ, which strengtheneth me."

Now that you've read all of the spiritual stuff, I will explain the "I am getting married in 2 months". One day in my afternoon class, we did an activity where we had to ask them questions starting with a question about faith to understand what had happened in their life. Our teacher wrote down a bunch of different prompts that said what was going to be happening in our lives for the other person to figure out. She specifically chose which prompt to give each and every one of us... She gave me the prompt that I was getting married in 2 months. Maybe I give off that vibe haha... but I'd be okay with it... after my mission though.

I was also doing my personal study and was looking into the word unity in the topical guide and I found the word unicorn... it said to go to the bible dictionary. I am still surprised to have found unicorn in the bible dictionary. I think each of you should go and look.

The question for this week is How can you feed your faith every day?

The mission is going so well so far even though I am still in the MTC- I still can't believe that I am on a mission and that I have already completed a month! I know that everyone told me that it goes by fast- but I had no idea that it went by that fast. Last week is my last week in the MTC and then I will be in Dallas Texas! I fly out from Mexico on Monday August 1st. Wish me luck!
