New Friends!
This week was super fun! I have made tons of new friends here! There is a grocery store type place that we go to study, and there is this security guy that has become our best friend! He is the only person in his family here, and he came here for work. He came and showed us his family one day, and explained everything about them to us! He is such a happy guy! Also at the michoacana (the grocery store) I met a friend, I wish I could say that I opened my mouth to talk to him, but he started the conversation! My companion was in the bathroom, so I had to rely on my self! But I learned all about him, and his life! He asked me about the church, and I invited him, and asked him if he wanted to learn more about it! The gift of tongues is real because I definitely had help understanding him!
I have another family that we have been teaching that is so cute! They have 4 kids... and 3 are old enough to be baptized! Those three kids have a little bit of a rough family life, but their parents let us come and teach them! They are always so interested in everything we say, so when we brought them a book, they pulled it out of our hands, and began to read! They each wanted their own copy! I have such a love for these three kids, and I hope we will be able to find a ride for them to church so they can feel the love of Christ more! I hope to have more to tell you about them later!
My companion has been kinda-really sick this week (don't worry, not covid- she tested negative) and on wednesday she slept for most of the day. So I stayed home and... STUDIED! It was such a good day, and I felt the spirit so strong during it because it was so quiet! One of the scriptures that I was reminded of during that time was Ether 12:12!
Faith is so important in our day to day lives, when we don't have faith that good things will happen, then they simply won't happen! Its just like how we have to think like the little train that could- "I think I can, I think I can." But in this case, its not faith in ourselves, but faith in Jesus Christ! Let's change it to "I know he can, I know he can." Because he can, and he will, when we have faith in him. Its just like in Luke 8:43-48, the woman had faith to be healed by doing the simplest of things, and because of her faith, she was given a miracle. To recieve miracles in this life, we have to expect them- but also have faith when it isn't Gods will! Faith in him will move mountains, so lets try to strengthen our faith every day!
I'm starting a list of scriptures or quotes that I want to read every morning to motivate me, and remind me of my purpose here, Ether 12:12 is the first on the list. If you have any others that you feel is one that motivates you, please send it to me!
This week I went on an exchange with the STL that we live with... she is a english sister in a YSA ward. So you can imagine that my day was very different! I went to a volleyball activity with her, and it was so fun! They also had crumbl cookies there haha, and we got to take a bunch home! We slept in their room, just did a big sleepover because we have bunkbeds... and you won't guess what I did! I slept on the top bunk... and there is a ceiling fan... that was moving... yah. I hit the ceiling fan... and now have a cut on the corner of my head:). Good news is that it didn't bleed a lot, and I rarely notice it!
Oh also, if you have any workout ideas... please send them my way!
I love you all so much, don't forget how much the Lord loves you!
