Loving Father

This week I refocused my studying to the scriptures, so that I could focus on my own thoughts and personal revelations! And I feel that this week's study topic came at the perfect week: Thanksgiving! This week I studied how God is our Loving Heavenly Father.
A talk I liked was "the father" by Elder Ashton from the October 2018 conference.
All throughout my study I kept finding the word everlasting. God really is everlasting, he knows all, is all powerful, and is always there to give us aide! His work is everlasting too- "to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man." His work is to help us become like him... just like our own fathers here on earth.
This study came at the perfect time because I have been able to refocus my mindset on how God is truly my father. Which made me think about my own father! I am eternally grateful for him, and everything he has ever done for me! I know that when he picked me back up, told me that I was fine, gave me a hug to make me feel better, or correcting me after I did something wrong- that it was all done out of love, and out of his desire for me to be the best person that I can be! He is always there for me! (I love you dad!) That is just how our Heavenly Father is! Everything he does for us is out of love. In D&C 95:1 it says "whom I love I also chasten, that their sins may be forgiven." God sends prophets and parents, and people to help us go back home to him some day!
This reminds me of the story of the prodigal son! He left with his inheritance and reckless and wasteful. But, after time, he was able to recognize his mistakes, and be truly penitent. He returned home, and his father was overjoyed! Our Heavenly Father is going to be overjoyed! I can't imagine what it will be like coming home at the end of my mission, not even what it will be like returning to our Heavenly parents who have been watching us go through this entire trial of life!
I Invite you all to think about God not as God for a minute and as your Heavenly Father- because that is truly what he is. It's not just a title or a name!

This week we went to salvation army and sorted food, which was new, and fun! Organizing is always fun!
But I was able to do some really fun things this week. One of my friends here, that we are teaching, had a family member die. So we heart attacked their house and brought them cookies and toys- to show our love. They are going though a hard time, but it was nice to show them that we are still here for them!
For Thanksgiving we tried to visit as many people as possible, and we ended up visiting 12! We never went home, and we started visits right after we finished our studies! For dinner, we had it with a family in our ward that really reminds me of my mom and dad! And they put in the extra effort to make a traditional home cooked dinner- even though this culture doesn't celebrate Thanksgiving! It was the sweetest thing, and really made my day seem like it was a holiday! It was very family-y and I am so grateful for them!

We also had a little Facebook miracle this week! I have been messaging this person on Facebook that I found, but we haven't been able to figure out what language they speak, there are some Spanish words- but not enough for me to understand. We looked it up in Google translate, and it told us that it was krio, so we messaged my companions friend and he said it was just bad English... then the person send us an audio, and my companion had another friend that was speaking papiamemtu and thought we could ask her! Well we sent her the audio and it was the language that she was speaking! But not only that it was a member in her ward in her mission! The lady was lonely, and it made them decide they had to go visit her! It made me really happy! I guess it just goes to show that God answers your prayers through other people!

Also our new convert, is so sweet, he joined us for a lesson, and it was really frustrating... but after the lesson ended, and he called us and told us that we were angels and rehyped us up!

Also, my companion tested positive for covid! But im okay! So we are quarantined for 5 days!

I love you all soo much! And here is my question this week: what is everlasting? What objects? Relationships? Objects?...
