"If You Want To Change The Shape Of Your Life Change The Shape Of Your Day."
This week we had zone conference and there was a focus on repentance and taking the next step forward. In the scriptures, it always says "the kingdom of heaven is at hand." And I've always thought that it meant that Jesus is coming soon and we needed to be ready. Which it might mean that too. But my eyes were opened to the idea that it also means that the kingdom of heaven is in reach. I love thinking about it like that, it's so hopeful and that's what repentance should be like. We can have the blessings of the Kingdom of Heaven, all we need to do is repent, or take the sacrament, or perform other sacred promises with our Loving Father.
Someone else also mentioned a pattern when Jesus is healing during his Earthly Ministy. First they were forgiven of their sins, and then the healing happened or began. We need to ask for forgiveness in order to feel that peace and that healing inside of us. I love 3 Nephi 9:13; "will ye not now return unto me, and repent of your sins, and be converted, that I may heal you?" He is ready with outstretched arms to heal us and make us whole, all we have to do is do our part and repent with real intent.
Repentance is such a gift, and we have been given many!!! Another is the scriptures! This week that is what I studied about! In D&C 33:16 it says "And the Book of Mormon and the holy scriptures are given of me for your instruction." Isn't that amazing? We literally have a manuel for our lives on earth... in story book form! Imagine reading something more formated like a car manuel! I could not do it! But how lucky we are!
Another reason why the scriptures are so important to study is because they give us hope. Inside the scriptures is the way to eternal life. In John 5:39 it says "Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me." The scriptures give us hope! And that is a huge lesson that I have learned on the mission. No matter what I'm feeling, they can always raise my mood.
Easter!!! My companion and I sang in church which was super cool! It was a perfect ending to our companionship! Because we have transfers this week!
I'm staying in Irving... and my new companion will be Hermana Foley!!
