Wedding Jitters
This week I studied fasting! I didn't learn anything crazy, but I recognized something new! "Hold Fast." It's the same-ish word. So to remain firm is why we fast! I found that I liked 2 Chronicles 20:3 and 1 Corinthians 7:5 from my study! We fast to develop spiritual strength!
But this week I had a couple of fun spiritual experiences!
1) I had a question about why God had to put Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden first where they had to sin to keep his other commandment. Why didn't he just make them mortal? I had been thinking about it for a couple days, and I knew that he had to have done it for a reason- because God is all knowing. So I finally read through the story if Adam and Eve... and well at first I didn't find anything. But I still remember thinking that he had to do it for a reason, and if I can't find it... I guess I'm not meant to know. This showed me how trust and faith are important, because right after my mind was drawn to opposition and I was from there led to a couple other scriptures: Alma 42:7, 13, D&C 122:7, and Moses 6:55. Feel free to look them up! I'm sure there is more you can find too! But this is what I discovered: Adam and Eve were the first parents on the earth. And a parents responsibility is to teach, nurture, and raise them up to the Lord. How could they have done that when they had zero experience- they were put on earth as adults! They needed go sin to feel what it was like so that they put higher importance in following the Lords commandments. There is probably more, and I could be wrong. But that's what I learned!
2) While I was listening to a conference talk, I had a thought about how necessary it was that I came on a mission. In a way I felt saved, that God had had mercy on me and sent me here so that I could become closer to him. I was honestly in tears. Anyway a mission can change your life, and I'm so grateful that I chose to serve!
We met an amazing lady last week, and she has been telling us about her story and what brought her here, and it made me nervous to date after the mission. The situation that she is in right now, is unfortunate and something I never want. Moral of the story...Marriage is serious, and make sure you really get to know them before you get married. If you want more information on her story, let me know- it's just sad.
But she's literally amazing, she understands why we have the book of Mormon and is reading it! She is just such a spiritual powerhouse, after we introduced her to a member, they go on a walk every morning!
I sang in church with another elder from my district this Sunday! Paz en Cristo!! It was super fun! And I got to draw in a lesson with some sweet kiddos!! Thanks mom for the great advice!!
I love you all soo much! Have an amazing week! And remember to look for the blessings and miracles, because they are there!
