But Why..?

This week I studied the difference between to believe and to have faith. Something that I've noticed during my time as a missionary is that many people believe in Christ, and believe that he died for them, but that's where I see it end. To believe is to be confident in something. To have faith or to be faithful is to be steadfast in allegiance or loyal. In the Gospel of Jesus Christ it isn't enough to just believe, we need to be loyal. Loyal to our values and standards, loyal to our Savior, loyal to our covenants, etc. And when we are loyal, our Loving Heavenly Father makes up the difference, he is loyal to us as well. Faith takes action, belief doesn't.
It's not a long thought, but it made me think, am I showing my loyalty? Is it to things temporal or things spiritual?

I had some time this week to listen to President Ord and one thing he talked a lot about was the word "why". Why are we members, why is the gospel important? Why should we go to church?... why. It made me think back to being a little kid, and how little kids love asking why. Ans they should. Sometimes in the gospel we take a long time to get to the why behind everything we do. Think about why the Gospel of Jesus Christ is important to you, and why you do what you do, Why you are loyal to our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Let me know what you think of!

This week we actually had rain, and the temperatures weren't horrible! We could be outside! Yay!

I've somehow convinced my amazing companion to wake up earlier with me so that we can exercise haha, pray for her so she can get enough sleep!!

Lastly this week we had "Noche Hispana." It's a celebration for Mexican Independence day, and Spanish wards love to celebrate it by having everyone bring foods from their country to share and we talk and enjoy music. Las Hermanas of Casa Linda asked us to do a dance with them called "Kareke" it's kinda like tap dancing but not at all... I don't know maybe just look up a video. They gave us matching skirts, fake braids, and white flowers... and they told me I had to wear a little makeup. Sadness. It was a hassle getting my hair to be how it should since its grown a bit since I last cut it, but with a ton of gel and Bobby pins it successfully stayed the whole night! Thanks again Hermana Wilson! Everyone is invited and we had a ton of our English class students come!

My question of the week: how will you show your loyalty this week?
