Children Of God

This week was a fever dream... I don't even know what happened. But, I studied about being a child of God. There are times when we just don't feel like what we are doing is enough, like we just can't reach the top shelf and we aren't meeting expectations (both our own and that of others). I felt that a little this week, but this is what helped me:
God is our Loving Heavenly Father, our Father who supports us and excited for every good thing that happens in our life. And he's pretty dang cool, he is all knowing, all powerful, and above all he's Merciful and generous. Let me take a step back for a second to explain my thinking. Let's put my parents and me in mind for a minute. We look kinda similar, I do things the way they do, etc. Why? Because they are my parents, and I learn from them and strive to be like them. I have some characteristics and habits because of that desire and because of the time I have spent with them.
It's like that with our Father in Heaven, we get characteristics from him too, whether you believe it or not. We know them as spiritual gifts. Sometimes we have to work hard for them, and sometimes they are just given. But those talents and gifts that we have are proof that we are Children of God. Each and every single one of us have received a gift from him, maybe a couple, and these gifts are meant to help us help others.
I know I'm not perfect, and that's a good thing, keeps my life interesting, but I know that my potential is divine and so is yours. Know that God loves you, and is cheering you on!

This week I made stuffed peppers for the first time, they were good... I kinda had to guess on the recipe, so I'll probably tweak it a bit for next time.
Hermana Wilson and I finished our draft for our Apostasy and Restoration time line!! Yay!
We had a lesson that our recent convert, Oswaldo, helped us with, and honestly we ended up muting ourselves and he just taught pretty much the whole lesson. He talked about how much he loves the Book of Mormon and what its about. He was soo happy! That is why I love missionary work, so that people can be filled with joy!

We also had interviews with the mission president, and one thing that stuck out to me is to have non-negotiables in life. The things that have to be a part of your day, your week, your month, your year... your life. That kinda leads into my question for the week: what are the non-negotiables of your life? Or what should they be?
