Enjoying The Simple Things

I don't really know what to tell you about my studies from this week. But there are a couple of general ideas that I really liked. I'm studying about how faith guides us to repent, and it's really cool how simple yet true that is. When our faith is true, and its in Jesus Christ and his atonement, the next logical step is to repent. There was a phrase I read that I really liked: The Purpose of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is to turn common creatures into celestial beings. The only way we can do that is through repentance, which is through the Atonement of Jesus Christ.
I was also reading through a talk and thr phrase that stood out to me the most was: Where the spirit can easily dwell. I think that's kinda a guide for life, for places, friends, jobs, activities, etc. If the spirit can't follow you into that situation, why go?

This week was a week to enjoy the simple things. Some things that just filled my day with joy were: chatting with Hermana Bradshaw about random things like how rice is harvested, going to English class and seeing them interact, going and doing service for members, visiting people, and marking my scriptures. There was definitely other things, but I really noticed how these things made me smile this week!

On our preparation day we went into Dallas and visited the JFK assassination site. Very interesting.

One interesting encounter that we had this week was when we were studying in a Spanish store (la fiesta) and the security guard comes up to us and starts telling us about how the 3 world War is coming and all of his theories about it... and then as he went back to work, another guy started telling us about how the food here is so much more expensive than in el Salvador... and all the different kinds of food they have there.

But I love missionary work, I'm so grateful to be a missionary and see how much I've changed and grown. I love the people here.

My question of the week is: When were you the happiest, and why?
