Interviews

This week I studied a lot... and the thing I feel like sharing is about Joseph Smith. I was reading about him and I thought "how did he prepare himself between the 4 years to be worthy to recieve the gold plates?" Well, I asked a missionary who just came from one of the church history sites and here is what I learned.
Overall we don't know much about what he did but we know he worked hard, and that he learned a lot. Every year he went to the Hill Cumorah to meet with the angel Moroni "and received instruction and intelligence from him at each of our interviews, respecting what the Lord was going to do, and how and in what manner his kingdom was to be conducted in the last days" (JSH 1:54). When I was talking with the other missionary she used the word coaching. Moroni was coaching Joseph to prepare him. We all need coaching, we all need to gain knowledge.
It's not terribly profound, but I really liked that Moroni was explaining the past to him to prepare him for the future. I guess that's why the scriptures and study is so important.

This week I got to drive to Frisco, and let me just share my testimony that I know God loves me because of the 2.5 hours total driving that day only about 10 minutes of it was on a freeway! I'm honestly so grateful!

And... the temperatures dropped a bit! I can finally wear sweaters!! At least until it goes back up! A highlight of my week was being able to spend time outside, so Hermana Bradshaw and I sat on the see saw while we were calling our friends haha.

One thing my mission president is focusing on right now is to "curb negative thoughts". To think about how things can improve but to not think about your weaknesses during the day because that will distract you. It's very true, and that's my challenge for you all this week, to get rid of all negative thoughts that come into your head, from yourself or from others, because they don't do anyone any good.

My question of the week is: Is social media worth it?
