Simplicity

Hey! This week I studied the 3rd article of faith! And it honestly turned Into studying about the connection between baptism and the atonement. I don't really know how to explain my thoughts on it, but while I was studying the come follow me for this week I found this phrase: "Christ is the only rightful heir, therefore we must become adopted through the atonement." When we are baptized, we are reborn as children of Christ, children of the Covenant. Without the Atonement, baptism would just be taking a dip in a pool. But because of the Atonement we are able to fully repent and become one with Christ, and become "joint-heirs" with him. Baptism is pretty important. Without it, without Christ, we would never be able to live with our Heavenly Father again.

Also... I read a talk titled "it's true isn't it? Then what else matters?" and I reccomend reading it. There are a lot of things that matter in the world, but when we think of Our Goal (singular), do those things that matter to us help us get there? Or are they just another thing? The more time I spend learning about this Gospel, and applying it to my life, the more I have realized that some things really don't matter. I can still have those things, that's okay, but they should never be my focus, or my goal.

As usual, I don't remember a lot that happened this week, but we had transfers. My new companion is Hermana Bradshaw. We actually were in the MTC together so I already know a lot about her. And also...I'm the driver. After a good amount of months they want me to drive. Haha, pray for me.

We had a lesson with a new referral named Isaac, he has had a lot of hard things going on in his life and he has lost everything. He's only 28. The lesson was about prayer, and we had a member in the lesson. That member showed me what it meant to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was so kind, and it doesn't matter what he did, but I left that lesson knowing that this was The Lord's church, and that it truly has been restored. I know that member made a huge difference in the life of Isaac. If you ever see an opportunity to help someone, don't miss that opportunity.

Lastly, I hope you all enjoyed General Conference, I really enjoyed it!!

My question of the week is: Why does the simplicity of the Gospel cause some people to stumble?
